AUB Summer Arabic Program

The Center for Arab and Middle Eastern Middle Studies (CAMES) launched its first intensive Arabic program in the summer of 2000 with just 17 students and two levels of Arabic: Introductory and Intermediate. The program has since grown to accommodate up to 90 students each summer who enroll in all levels of Arabic ranging from Introductory to High Advanced. CAMES offers two Arabic programs which run alongside each other each summer: the Arabic Language and Culture program and the Colloquial Lebanese Arabic program. The Arabic Language and Culture program gives students the opportunity to study Standard Arabic and integrates Colloquial Lebanese Arabic. The Colloquial Lebanese Arabic program, which began in 2012, allows students to learn and improve their spoken and written Lebanese Arabic at various levels. The CAMES Arabic summer programs give students at all levels the opportunity to engage with the language and culture both inside and outside the classroom through the various Cultural Immersion opportunities.
